Our Mission Statement

AnthroMinds is dedicated to helping high school students better understand mental health by providing useful knowledge and resources. Our approach is inspired by medical anthropology, which looks at how culture, society, and biology all play a role in mental well-being. We also draw from medical insights to get a fuller picture. Our goal is to create a welcoming and inclusive space that supports mental wellness and acknowledges the various factors that impact mental health.

Our Activities & Events

Making a Difference

Discussions

Through cultural exploration, our members discuss how different cultures perceive mental illness and how cultural factors impact mental health outcomes, both in-person and online.

Guest Speakers

We invite mental health professionals, counselors, and medical anthropologists to deliver talks and lead workshops on topics such as mental health, cultural competence, and the intersection of medicine and anthropology.

Community Events

We organize community projects, including mental health awareness campaigns, stress-relief workshops, peer support groups, and mindfulness sessions—both on and off campus.

Storytelling

Students are encouraged to utilize storytelling and art therapy as means of self-expression and healing. They can share personal stories in person or online, or create art that raises awareness about mental health and promotes empathy.

Fundraisers

To support our cause, we host fundraisers to raise money for the nonprofit. This helps us buy supplies for storytelling projects and bring in guest speakers. Any donations are greatly appreciated!

Other Organizations & Clubs

We partner with local mental health organizations and other clubs in the Bay Area to volunteer, fundraise, and support their initiatives. This gives students a better understanding of the mental health resources available in our community.

Donate

Please donate to our organization! We take all the proceeds and direct them back toward this organization to make a better organization and space for all!
